COUNTRY STAR DIERKS BENTLEY SCORES TWO GRAMMY NOMINATIONS

Bentley Celebrates Three No. One Hits This Year

NASHVILLE, TN - Dec. 7, 2006 -Capitol Nashville singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley nabbed two Grammy nominations today for "Best Male Country Vocal Performance" and "Best Country Song" both for his hit single "Every Mile A Memory." The 49th annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast on Sunday, February 11, 2006 live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS.

"I feel really honored to be included in a category with a guy like George Strait," said Bentley from his hometown of Phoenix. "Being such a country music fan, the Grammys never really crossed my mind as a possibility. Its really flattering to be recognized by an organization that represents all genres of music."

2006 has been the country music star's best year to date, professionally, with award nominations, a No. one album, three No. one hit singles and his first headlining tour. Bentley's latest release LONG TRIP ALONE topped Billboard's country albums chart this past October and has already been certified GOLD by the RIAA. The lead single "Every Mile a Memory" landed in the No. one spot on both country singles charts, making it the third No. one hit for the Phoenix-native this year, more than any other country artist.

"When you are out on the road as much as we are, you never really get to stop and enjoy career milestones because we are just busy focusing on that night's show," added Bentley. "It's pretty cool though to look back over the last few years and see how far we've come."

Music critics are praising LONG TRIP ALONE as powerful, confident and consistent. On the follow up to Bentley's first two platinum-selling releases, the self-titled debut and MODERN DAY DRIFTER, each of the 11 tracks co-written by Bentley depict a singer/songwriter who has clearly hit his stride.

"He's got about as much momentum as anyone in the business." New York Times

“A consistently top-notch album that ensures his next trip will be to country’s elite ranks.”
 USA TODAY

“The videogenic guitar slinger has turned out a solid if not extraordinary follow up to last year’s platinum Modern Day Drifter.”
