Lead Single "Johnny Cash" On Fire In Country Music's Biggest Markets

NASHVILLE, TN - Feb 27, 2007 - Rising country music star and reigning ACM TOP NEW MALE VOCALIST Jason Aldean will release his second Broken Bow Records album on May 29, 2007. The album, titled RELENTLESS, follows on the heels of his self-titled PLATINUM debut, which spawned three chart-topping radio hits, "Hicktown" (#9), "Why" (#1) and "Amarillo Sky" (#4).

Already, the lead single, "Johnny Cash" is drawing a huge response from country radio with 79 monitored stations already playing the rocking, tempo track, eliciting an overwhelming number of caller requests in major markets including Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit, San Antonio, Denver and Minneapolis. The single, written by John Rich, Vicky McGehee and Rodney Clawson, is blazing a trail up the charts and after just two weeks sits at #33 (R&R) proving to be the highest chart position on impact date of Aldean's career thus far. "I am anxious to get this new music out to all the fans who were so supportive of the first one," said Aldean. "The live crowds have been really responsive to 'Johnny Cash,' and I've got that butterfly feeling in my stomach that you get when you know you are on the verge of something exciting."

However, it's no nervousness and all nerve on Aldean's new album RELENTLESS. You can feel the attitude he brings to his live shows in its opening lines. The lead song and single, "Johnny Cash" is about freedom and abandon, a fantasy about blowing off the grind and hitting life's highway with the top down and "Folsom Prison Blues" or "Big River" pumping on the stereo.

Aldean's second album is a collection of songs that sustain his emphasis on relatable, recognizable lyrics while pushing into new sonic territory. Other standout tracks include a tight duet with fellow rising star Miranda Lambert on "Grown Woman," the brooding "Back In This Cigarette" which almost screams to be made into a video, and the swampy groove of "I Break Everything I Touch."

Aldean is currently burning up the asphalt to give his fans a sneak peak of the highly-anticipated new album in sold out arenas on the Rascal Flatts "Me and My Gang" tour, and he will link up with Dierks Bentley for his "Live and Loud" tour in March and April for a string of dates as well. The Georgia-native is also confirmed to play Nashville's LP Stadium during CMA Music Fest this June.
