LADY ANTEBELLUM CLOSES OUT 2008 WITH MULTIPLE GRAMMY NOMINATIONS

iTunes Names Trio to Its "Best New Artists" of 2008 List

NASHVILLE, TN - Dec. 4, 2008 - Rising country music group Lady Antebellum snagged two GRAMMY nods last night - their first ever - in both the overall "Best New Artist" category and the "Best Country Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocals" (for "Love Don't Live Here"). Both of the Capitol Records Nashville trio's nominations were announced live, two of only six categories revealed during CBS' "GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live" on Wednesday evening.

Combined with their ACM win for "Best New Vocal Group" and last month's CMA "New Artist of the Year" trophy, a new artist GRAMMY win would make it an awards show sweep for the critically acclaimed country group.

Lady A heard the incredible news via text message as they walked off stage between gigs in Las Vegas, where they were closing out a busy 2008 tour schedule.

"I never thought after the ACM win that anything better could happen," said a shocked Dave Haywood. "Then when we won at the CMAs, I told everyone I could die a happy man. This is the coolest thing that will ever happen in my lifetime."

"Oh my gosh! I might get to meet Beyonce," screamed Hillary Scott. "I am seriously in shock and can't even think right now! This is just beyond my wildest dreams!"

"The list of people who have been nominated in the 'Best New Artist" category over the years is stacked with all of our idols," followed Charles Kelley. "We have had so many cool things happen this year, and we are really grateful to the music community for welcoming us into the circle."

2008 has been a wild ride for the trio, who saw their debut album open at No. one on the Billboard Country Albums Chart, and their debut single "Love Don't Live Here" climb to the Top 3 on the radio charts. On top of their award wins, they have opened shows for Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood and Kenny Chesney and have made a slew of national media appearances, including Ellen and Jimmy Kimmel Live. To cap off the incredible year, this week iTunes chose Lady Antebellum as one of its "Best New Artists" of 2008.
