DIERKS BENTLEY CELEBRATES ACM NOMINATION WHERE IT ALL STARTED

NASHVILLE, TN – Jun. 13, 2006 – Capitol Nashville singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley detoured his tour bus through Athens, GA today to celebrate his ACM Best Male Vocalist Nomination with younger brother Fife Bentley and 400 buddies at a surprise show at the Lambda Chi Fraternity House at University of Georgia.

It’s amazing to be in the same category as George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, and Brad Paisley,” says Bentley. “It’s ironic that I found out the same day I’m headed to a frat house to play for 400 college kids for free beer. It just shows how far we’ve come, but that we haven’t forgotten where we’ve come from.”

Bentley will continue on with his band to Plant City, FL and then Destin, FL this weekend, before finishing up his “Platinum and Porcelain” tour in the Northeast next week. He is gearing up to join Chesney on his “Road & the Radio” tour kicking off March 23 in Dayton, OH.

“The great thing is that Dierks wanted to do something different, and he really has an incredible creative eye,” says Thomas. “We wanted a very contemporary feel but also a timeless piece that won’t age too quickly. I tried to imagine what a good rock and roll band should look like and then tried to transfer some of that imagery onto country music and Dierks… gritty, grainy, gutsy.”
