Bentley Breaks Ground As The First Ever Country Music Artist Booked for Bonnaroo
NASHVILLE, TN – Feb. 16, 2007 – Capitol Nashville singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley hits the road again for his “Live & Loud” tour, the second leg of his Bud Light sponsored headlining tour, at the end of the month in Lincoln, Nebraska. Bentley’s upcoming live concert DVD appropriately titled “LIVE AND LOUD AT THE FILLMORE” hits stores on March 20.
Joining Bentley for the 25 city run of small arenas will be a combination of rising country artists including Grammy nominee Miranda Lambert, ACM’s reigning “Top New Male Vocalist” Jason Aldean, Capitol label-mate Eric Church, and GOLD certified Arista Recording Artist Keith Anderson.
Bentley will also break ground this summer as the first country artist to ever perform at Bonnaroo, named Pollstar’s “Festival of the Year” four consecutive years. He will join headliners from other genres such as rock icons Radiohead and Tom Petty, Gospel great Mavis Staples and Bluegrass stars Bela Fleck & the Flecktones to perform for the over 80,000 fans who travel to Manchester, Tennessee each year for the June festival.
“Who wouldn’t want to play in front of that many really passionate music fans?” asked Bentley. “Of course, there’s a certain amount of pressure that comes with being the first country artist to play the festival, but it is exciting to take risks like this, and hopefully I’ll be able make country fans out of some of them.”
