NASHVILLE, TN – Jan. 8, 2007 – GRAMMY nominated singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley (Capitol Nashville) will release his first-ever live concert DVD titled “LIVE AND LOUD AT THE FILLMORE” on March 20, 2007. The hi-definition DVD, directed by renowned London-based filmmaker Russell Thomas (www.doneanddusted.com), was shot in June 2006 at the Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium in front of a standing-room only crowd.
“Making a live DVD has been a dream of mine for a couple years now,” said Bentley. “I really wanted to capture what we were doing in our live show at that particular moment, and I think Russell did an incredible job putting it on film. This is the ultimate accomplishment for me, the band and our fans.”
The project features Bentley and his band performing some of his biggest hits, as well as some of the newer tracks from his critically acclaimed album LONG TRIP ALONE. Bonus footage takes fans behind the scenes of life on the road for the Phoenix-native, who toured over 300 days last year. Those familiar with Bentley’s video for the smash hit single “Every Mile A Memory” got a sneak peak at what to expect from the DVD through a montage of clips pulled for the No. one video
“The great thing is that Dierks wanted to do something different, and he really has an incredible creative eye,” says Thomas. “We wanted a very contemporary feel but also a timeless piece that won’t age too quickly. I tried to imagine what a good rock and roll band should look like and then tried to transfer some of that imagery onto country music and Dierks…. gritty, grainy, gutsy.”
2006 was the country music star’s best year to date, professionally, with award nominations, a No. one album, three No. one hit singles and his first headlining tour. Bentley’s latest release LONG TRIP ALONE topped Billboard’s country albums chart this past October and has already been certified GOLD by the RIAA. The lead single “Every Mile a Memory” landed in the No. one spot on both country singles charts, making it the third No. one hit for the Phoenix-native this year, more than any other country artist. His current release “Long Trip Alone” is currently racing up the charts.
Bentley kicked off the Canadian leg of his Bud Light sponsored “Locked & Loaded” tour this week in Vancouver with label-mate Eric Church and Canadian artist Doc Walker. For other upcoming tour dates, visit www.dierks.com.
