JASON ALDEAN RUNS FULL THROTTLE WITH THE RELEASE OF “WIDE OPEN” IN STORES ON APRIL 7, 2009
Lead Single “She’s Country” Draws Electric Response
NASHVILLE, TN – Jan 23, 2009 – After selling two million copies of his first two albums, topping the charts with five smash hits, racking up countless award nominations and hitting every stop on the requisite “new artist” tour circuit, country rocker Jason Aldean is running full throttle into Spring. His highly anticipated third album, Wide Open, is due out April 7 on Broken Bow Records.
As the title implies, the 10-track disc celebrates the unlimited opportunities life offers, while recognizing the all-too-familiar speed bumps along the way. Many of Nashville’s hit tunesmiths, including Neil Thrasher, Wendell Mobley and Brett James penned songs for Aldean’s latest offering. The modern, aggressive country sound of Wide Open can be attributed both to producer Michael Knox and to Aldean’s touring band, who infused Aldean’s live sound into the studio recordings.
“Wide Open is the only way I know how to live. When it came time to give this album a title, that track just summed it all up…it describes my personality and attitude 100 percent,” explains Aldean. “Me and the guys in the band went into the studio and recorded these songs live, and tried to picture ourselves playing them in an arena down the road somewhere. I think you can definitely feel that energy. ”
The Macon, GA native’s debut of “She’s Country” was introduced with a lights out performance on the CMA Awards, sparking a massive reaction at radio and retail. It is the first single off the forthcoming CD and now the fastest rising single of his career to date.
“When we got in the studio and played it for the first time, it flew out of the speakers!” Aldean exclaims. Written as a southern shout-out to all the country girls, the song champions the big guitars and solid backbeat that form the nucleus of Aldean’s signature sound. It also gives fans a taste of what lies in store on the rest of the album.
After a hugely successful headlining run last Fall with opener Lady Antebellum, Aldean is looking forward to opening a handful of dates for superstars Toby Keith and Keith Urban in the coming months. For tour dates, visit www.jasonaldean.com
