“Dirt Road Anthem” Certified Triple Platinum, Up for Two Fan Voted CMT Awards Tonight
NASHVILLE, TN – June 6, 2012 – MULTI-PLATINUM entertainer Jason Aldean has made the ascent to stadium headliner, selling out his first stadium show for the 2012 MY KINDA PARTY TOUR’s August 5 date at Columbus, Ohio’s Crew Stadium. With over 27,000 tickets sold, it will be the largest concert in Crew Stadium history and the first time a show there has sold out more than two months in advance.
“We are just starting to test the waters with stadiums, and this soccer stadium in Columbus is our first run at it,” said Aldean. “I am hopeful and excited that we’ll be able to do some more of these later in the year or in 2013. Columbus, OH…hope you’re ready to throw down with us on Aug. 5!”
Additionally, Aldean has become the first male country artist to earn TRIPLE PLATINUM certification for a single with “Dirt Road Anthem,” one of five consecutive No. one releases off his DOUBLE PLATINUM album MY KINDA PARTY. The video for “Dirt Road Anthem” is up for two trophies at tonight’s CMT Music Awards, in the categories of Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year. Aldean will also present an award on the live show that begins at 7pm CT on CMT.
