“DROWNS THE WHISKEY”

Aldean & BMI Songwriters Cheers to the Multi-Week Chart Topper’s Critical Praise from Billboard,
Rolling Stone
 and More

NASHVILLE, TN – Jan. 09, 2018 – Three-time and reigning ACM “Entertainer Of The Year” Jason Aldean brought together the music industry, friends and family alike yesterday (1/08) to celebrate his 21st career No. One single “Drowns The Whiskey” feat. Miranda Lambert at Nashville’s Cambria Hotel. Hosted by BMI, Aldean kicked off the new year commemorating the second consecutive multi-week chart topper from his record-breaking eighth studio album REARVIEW TOWN (Broken Bow Records) with its writers Josh Thompson, Brandon Kinney and Jeff Middleton.

The slow-burning “soulful track” (GRAMMY) follows the chart-topping hit “You Make It Easy” and precedes his current Top 5 and climbing single, “Girl Like You.” Known as a standout track in 2018 by critics, the CMA nominated ballad landed on multiple “Best of” lists including BillboardRolling Stone,UPROXX and USA Today and earned nominations from the the ACM and CMA Awards. The song marks the first No. One single for both BMI writers Brandon Kinney and Jeff Middleton.

Aldean is only the second Country act in history to score four consecutive chart-toppers on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart with his current album REARVIEW TOWN, with six of his previous LPs having achieved PLATINUM certification or better. The path paved by his wide-open sure-footed approach has defined the genre’s 21st century including more than 17 million total album sales and countless recognition from the GRAMMYs, ACMs, CMAs, BBMAs, People’s Choice Awards and more. He is a perennial live-show favorite as “Country’s biggest entertainer” (Rolling Stone) demonstrates why he is a “musically muscular, big-tent entertainer” (The Atlantic) for the format by headlining the biggest stadiums in the United States.
