LADY ANTEBELLUM’S DEBUT ALBUM EARNS NOTEWORTHY PRAISE FROM MUSIC CRITICS

Trio Graces the Cover of Pollstar This Week

NASHVILLE, TN – June 25, 2008 – When rising country music group Lady Antebellum blew onto the scene in early 2008, national outlets from MSN to Associated Press named them “one to watch.” Now, three months after their album debuted at #1, music critics across the country are hailing it as “one of the year’s best, period,” earning them a place among a small group of artists with both commercial appeal and critical acclaim.”As songwriters and musicians, it feels great to be acknowledged by these critics who listen to dozens of albums every week,” said Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood. “And as a new artist, I think the best you can hope for is that your music makes some connection with the fans and that people like it enough that you get to put out another song or two and keep building a career.”

With their newly released second single “Lookin’ For A Good Time” already climbing the country radio charts, Lady Antebellum also continues to hover at the top of Billboard’s country albums chart, while earning valued approval from top reviewers.

“Not only is this one of the best new-artist debuts in recent memory (think Dixie Chicks in 1998), Lady Antebellum’s self-titled set will go down as one the year’s best, period.”
– Billboard

“This is the new country music: respectful of the past but unashamed of its modernity.”
– Detroit Free Press

“The harmonies are spot on. The lyrics are wellcrafted. The production is so polished it feels like the songs have been buffed with chamios. This is a remarkably solid album.”
– Tampa Tribune

“In a world of frontmen, you can count the number of great country bands on one hand. Well, you could. Now you have to add one more: Lady Antebellum. This debut album features an uncomplicated Southern rock feel and strong gritty harmonies that stay nice and deep… the tracks soar with their fresh sound, making this good-mood music where even the downers are uppers.”
– Chicago Tribune

“Fans of mainstream country music should definitely make space on their shelves and hard drives for this strong debut.”
– Boston Globe

Additionally, Lady Antebellum’s dynamic live show and summer tour schedule will be highlighted as the cover story in this week’s Pollstar. The band is currently burning up the highway opening shows for superstars including Reba McEntire, Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood.

Fans can catch Lady Antebellum perform “Lookin’ For A Good Time” on TNT during a pre-race concert live from NASCAR’s Coke Zero 400 Event at the Daytona International Speedway on July 5. For other upcoming tour dates and television appearances, visit www.ladyantebellum.com.
