MULTI-MEDIA PERSONALITY BOBBY BONES JOINS THE FAN CONTROLLED FOOTBALL LEAUGE AS LATEST TEAM OWNER
Bones Joins Fellow Owners and “Fan Captains” Marshawn Lynch, Richard Sherman, Prince Royce, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, and Twitch streamers Kinda Funny |
Nashville, TN – May 30, 2019 – The Fan Controlled Football League (FCFL), the first professional sports league where fans call all the shots, announced today that iHeartRadio country music radio personality, ABC’s American Idol mentor, Dancing with the Stars Mirror Ball champion, and 2019 NFL Draft roving reporter, Bobby Bones, has joined the league as a team owner and Fan Captain. As Fan Captain, Bones will lead his squad’s fans in creating the brand, voice and personality of his team, as well as helping them through key decisions including hiring (and firing) coaches, drafting players, and calling plays in real-time.
“I’ve been a pretty proud football fan for as long as I can remember but becoming an owner in the FCFL was a no-brainer because the fans literally lead the way and call the shots,” said Bones. “The League is innovative, different, and I’m excited for the #BTeam to join me in another crazy journey.”
Bones is part of an expanding lineup of celebrity Team Owners including current NFL superstars Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman, former NFL great Ochocinco, Latin-music fan-favorite Prince Royce, and leading Twitch streamers Kinda Funny. The FCFL will be announcing its remaining owners in the coming weeks.
“Country Music and football go hand in hand so adding one of Country Music’s biggest personalities – who was just recently an NFL Draft correspondent for ABC and ESPN – to our roster of Team Owners is only natural,” said FCFL CEO Sohrob Farudi. “What a lot of people don’t realize about Bobby is that he has incredibly deep sports knowledge besides being a fierce competitor, which we all saw when he won Dancing with the Stars. We’re excited to have him bring his legion of country music fans to the FCFL.”
The inaugural 2019 FCFL season will feature all eight teams playing in a single location with FCFL fans joining a team led by their favorite celebrity team owner who also serves as a “Fan Captain.” Instead of being built around regional affiliation, fan followings are built on the attitude, style and overall personality of a team, exemplified by the team’s celebrity Fan Captain. Fans can take the FCFL Team Personality Analyzer test to see which team they best align with, here.
The FCFL’s fast-paced, one-hour running clock, 7-on-7 games will be presented courtesy of the latest technology and on display in the FCFL mobile app and Twitch interactive video experience that gives fans control over team decisions down to the actual plays on the field. With front office, personnel and team decisions at fans’ fingertips, the FCFL will be an entirely new way to experience sports when it launches later this year.
