SECOND ANNUAL FASTER HORSES FESTIVAL RACES TO THE FINISH WITH RECORD ATTENDANCE AND A SUPERSTAR LINEUP
Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert And More Make This Year’s Festival A “Runaway Success”
NASHVILLE, TN – July 21, 2014 – This past weekend saw the rolling hills of Brooklyn, MI welcome the Faster Horses Festival back for a second year. Over 25,000 fans raced to the three-day music and camping event, growing the festival’s attendance from its inaugural year significantly.
Tim McGraw was the first headliner of the weekend. “Clad in a black Faster Horses muscle shirt, [Tim McGraw] closed out the main stage with a reliably pro performance of his rugged, catchy country, rolling out hits like “One of Those Nights,” “Real Good Man,” “I Like It, I Love It” and “Mexicoma.” – Detroit Free Press.
“Keith Urban thrills raucous crowd” -Mlive. The party was in full swing as Keith Urban took the main stage on Saturday.
Kip Moore played to the enthused crowd Friday during the festival. “Faster Horses can be deemed a runaway success…fans poured into the festival Thursday night and turned the site into a small village, a wild four-day bash full of cowboy boots, booze and country twang.” –Detroit News.
A wide shot taken from the stage during Saturday’s proceedings shows the enormity of the crowds over the weekend. As well as a monster lineup, festival-goers had numerous other outlets of entertainment available to them during the three day event including late night DJ sets, an inflatable water slide, a Foamalicious tent, and new to this year a “selfie stage” where fans are able to take pictures of themselves atop a platform that overlooks the entire complex.
The artist friendly environment of the festival lends itself to spontaneous collaborations, “Lambert was joined during her set by her openers Little Big Town (for “Smokin’ and Drinkin'”) and her fellow Pistol Annie Ashley Monroe (for “Heart Like Mine”). Earlier in the day, Lambert popped up on stage with Monroe during her early afternoon set, singing “Unhappily Married” with her pal” –Detroit News.
“Faster Horses this year was better than I could have ever anticipated or hoped for ” said Brian O’ Connell, creator of Faster Horses Festival and Live Nation President of Country Touring. “Walking around the campsites you just get the greatest sense for community from the fans and backstage the artists are truly enjoying themselves, all around it’s an amazing atmosphere.”
